HACKY JEDI "I've done alot of rides and I've seen alot of roadkill. And if RAGBRAI has taught me anything it's that beer and biking go hand-in-hand." |
Hacky's Secret Identity
The Hacky Jedi has been wowing RAGBRAI riders with his superior hacky sack skills for twenty-nine years now. He is also the keeper of one of the two official Team Stiff hacky sacks. Hacky's bike is named Itchy. He met the boys from Sigourney in a hacky circle while on his sixth RAGBRAI (1995).
|
||
"I still remember the first time I joined a hacky circle with the boys from Sigourney", recalls Hacky nostalgically. "Another guy in the circle wore an artificial arm which held his beer cup. After playing for a while we all decided to take a beer break. The one guy detached his artificial arm at the elbow and drank from his cup, using his artificial arm as a ladle of sorts. He then proceeded to pass his arm around the circle so we could all join in for a social drink. I knew right then that these guys were my kind of people."
|
||
The year Team Stiff acquired its bus the boys from Sigourney asked him to join the team as their "token hacky jedi". |
||
Sometimes people come up to Hacky and suspiciously ask, "What makes you a Hacky Jedi?" Hacky's response is always the same, "It says so on my back."
Hacky Jedi was born and raised in Iowa. He now hails from St. Louis (after spending some time in Chicago and Cincinnati), but is still an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan. This allegiance to the Cyclones sometimes causes some consternation among the other team members most of whom are Hawkeye fans. |
Two larger-than-life figures: Jesus Christ and the Hacky Jedi. |

Hacky only
does bike rides that meet at least one of the following two criteria: it
must be a really good party, or it must have a patch. Hacky has
done rides in every state and has learned that the only fun rides are in Iowa. Below are
the rides Hacky has done. <--- Hacky's Amazing Techni-Color Patch Coat --->
